Lukasz and I finally got the vacation we’d been waiting for at the beginning of February. We made our way to California for sunny weather and baby festivities!
As usual, we take advantage of our trip out west to explore any other areas that we can. Due to the lack of snow this winter season on the west coast, we decided to take a trip to Lake Tahoe so Lukasz can partake in skiing and I could take in the sights. There isn’t much for a pregnant lady to do in snowy weather but I definitely made the best of it and, having been to Tahoe with parents before, I was glad to be back. The views are breathtaking, even in winter and I’m always in awe of the mountains as we drive through the Sierras.
After a few days in Tahoe, we headed back to Orange County to spend a few days with my family and to celebrate this baby of ours! My mom planned what could possibly be the most pink baby shower on earth and we were really excited to be reunited with friends and family that I hadn’t seen in years. Despite being worried about El Niño, by the time we were back in Orange County, the weather was in the high 80’s and I got to experience what it was like being a pregnant woman in scorching heat. 😋
The beautiful weather definitely called for a beach day and even though we came unprepared, it was nothing a quick trip to Target couldn’t fix! (Target fixes everything).
Despite the beautiful weather, I was ready to come back home to New York in the end. This bustling city just keeps pulling me back!
